Introduction to toll station projects on highways in northern China
The main factors affecting the durability of concrete in the northern regions of China are frost damage, corrosion of deicing salts, etc. In 2008, our company used American (ChemTec) concrete sealing and solidifying agent for protection in the lane protection of toll stations on highways in the north. ChemTec concrete sealing and solidifying agent is a widely used concrete protection material in high latitude and cold regions of the United States, which has protected more than 3000 bridges, including dozens of old bridges over a century old.

The traffic flow on highways is generally over 50000 vehicles per day based on daily traffic volume. Such high density usage frequency inevitably exacerbates the wear and tear of vehicles on the ground. In addition, there are many heavy trucks and large buses passing by. The lane surface of toll stations on highways requires professional protective treatment and close cooperation of advanced protective materials to ensure that the lane surface can still maintain a good road condition after long-term high-density use.
After four years of alternating winter and summer, the concrete of the toll station lane was found to have significantly improved the freeze-thaw resistance, wear resistance, and chloride ion corrosion resistance of the concrete through on-site inspection in 2012. Moreover, the road surface protected by Kentec showed almost no damage.
